Kellaways Trip - 14th May

Thanks to everyone who came on this trip. We had a lovely paddle back to the club from the weir at Kellaways. There are some photos from the trip here.

Summer Courses

We have a wide range of course options to suit adults and children, novices and advanced paddlers alike. There are courses running on Tuesday, Thurday and Friday nights covering both canoeing and kayaking.

Upcoming Trips and Events

Saturday 9th July - Dragon Boat Race

In 2009 we entered a team and we had a lot of fun, coming 2nd , losing by a small margin in the final.

I need to find between 17 and 30 people, so that CSCC can enter a team this year.

To be a part of the CSCC Dragon boat team:

(i) You need to be available on Saturday 9th July 2011.

(ii) You will have to be 12yrs of age or older and “capable of swimming 50metres with the aid of a buoyancy aid

(iii) You will need to pay an entry fee of £20 to secure your place in the boat (no fee, no seat, first come first served).

(iv) You will need to raise at least £20 sponsorship for charity. (Note: 2/3 of the sponsorship will go to a charity of our choice).

If you would like to be a part of the CSCC dragon boat team. Please let us know by email. We need a minimum of 17 confirmed team members to enter a team.

Once we have a team signed up. We can organize some practice sessions with open canoes and discuss any fancy dress options.

The 3rd Annual CSCC Biathlon will take place on this date. The event has been a huge success the last two years.

The events consists of two races; one long and one short and include a paddle and a run.

Canoe and Kayak Store (formally known as Outdoor Active) are a Gloucester based comapany selling... you guessed it; canoe and kayaks! They have a large store just off the M5 at jnc 20, selling a range of canoes, kayaks, sit on tops and kit. They also have a small shop based at Cardiff International White Water Course where you can demo virtually every white water boat on the market! Click here to see their website.

Family Adventure Store

The Family Adventure Store (FAS) is our most local store for canoe, kayaks and gear. They have both river and canal access from the store and are based in Hilperton, just outside Trowbridge. Click here to go to their website.

Trip Reports

This link takes you to a page with previous trip reports. All are written in a very casual manor! These are not reports of all our trips by a long shot but give a good idea from a range of different rivers of different difficulties (plus they are fun to read esp. if you know the people in them!). Enjoy!!!
